Hannah Wright

MA, AMFT, APCC

I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist as well as an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor. I completed my MA in Clinical Mental Health at Palo Alto University. I am apart of Mind Body Connect Family Counseling where I am under the supervision of Mary Deggelman.

I offer Telehealth sessions and Walk and talk therapy to individuals in San Luis Obispo County. I was a horseback riding instructor for 10 years where I found my love for working with people. I have had experience working in an elementary school as a counselor, in a recovery clinic, and in Partial Hospitalization Programs that specialize in OCD and Eating Disorders. In my free time I love the outdoors, hiking, exploring new places, and riding horses.

My Approach

I believe that the therapeutic process should be collaborative. You are the expert in your own life. My goal is to offer a therapeutic space that is collaborative, compassionate, and directive.

I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), exposure response prevention (ERP), and mindfulness based interventions. I additionally utilize techniques from schema work, inner child work, narrative therapy, and expressive arts. I believe that each person is unique and finding the style that works for you is the most important to me.
